MT Canvas (‘emp-ty canvas’) is an independent commercial theatre Producing, General Management and Casting company based in Australia. We believe no production can be pursued alone and here at MT Canvas, we are painting tailor made partnerships that continue building the world-class reputation of the Australian entertainment industry.
Australia’s talent on and off stage is abundant and we are driven to create more opportunity for us all to collaborate and showcase this on a professional stage. We want to build teams that transform theatres into extraordinary worlds. Worlds people can escape to and where hours pass in a heartbeat.
A Note on our Founder
Meg Thomas, the founder and driving force of MT Canvas, is a multi-disciplined Arts leader, specialising in musical theatre. Meg spent close to a decade with Disney Theatrical, mounting national tours of The Lion King, Aladdin, Frozen and Beauty and the Beast in Australia and Singapore. After this, she spent time as the Commercial Director of (Re)Group a new ticketing & marketing company growing the Australian groups market. Prior to Disney, you would find her by day in the West End at the global Arts Entertainment Agency, AKA and by night ushering at London’s oldest theatre, Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
Classically trained in Ballet and an avid fan of musical theatre from a young age, Meg considers herself one of the lucky few who not only figured out early what she wanted to do but actually gets to do it every day.
